When we first stepped into this 4-room resale flat at 785B Woodlands Rise, we saw potential—a space that needed warmth, functionality, and a touch of boldness. Our goal? To craft a Scandinavian sanctuary with concrete textures, striking the perfect balance between clean simplicity and modern character.

The Living Room – A Lesson in Balance

We wanted the living room to be both a statement and a sanctuary. The centrepiece? A concrete-textured feature wall that adds depth and sophistication without overwhelming the space. To ground the design, our designer paired it with a sleek wooden TV console, ensuring a balance of modern industrial elements and natural warmth.

A plush, neutral-toned sofa was chosen for comfort, while floor-to-ceiling sheers bring in soft daylight, making the space feel open and inviting. By night, the interplay of textures and shadows creates an intimate setting—perfect for unwinding after a long day.

The Dining Area – Effortlessly Elegant

Flowing seamlessly from the living room, the dining area is designed for both functionality and elegance. A custom dining set with a wooden frame and marble-inspired tabletop creates a sophisticated yet casual dining experience. The chairs, upholstered in a deep grey fabric, provide both comfort and a subtle contrast to the lighter elements of the space.

Overhead, a sleek black ceiling fan not only adds a modern touch but also ensures ventilation for a comfortable dining environment. Adjacent to the dining space, a fluted glass partition subtly separates the kitchen while maintaining an open-concept feel.

A Kitchen That Works as Hard as It Looks

Kitchens are the heart of a home, and we designed this one with both efficiency and beauty in mind. A monochrome palette was key—white upper cabinets contrast with warm wood lower cabinetry, creating a timeless yet inviting aesthetic.

To introduce modern contrast, we incorporated black fixtures and a marble-inspired backsplash. Every element was chosen with purpose, ensuring a space that’s not just visually striking but also built for daily life. Clutter-free, functional, and effortlessly elegant—this is how a kitchen should be.

A Bedroom Designed for Comfort and Function

At Yuan Interior Design, we believe great design should work quietly in the background, creating a space that just feels right. For this bedroom, our designer crafted a custom-built platform bed that not only maximises space but integrates smart storage. This way, every inch of the room is optimised without sacrificing aesthetics.

A built-in study nook blends seamlessly into the room, offering a functional workspace without disrupting the calming atmosphere. Soft, flowing sheers allow natural light to filter in, while blackout curtains provide complete privacy and restful sleep. Every colour and material was chosen to evoke a sense of tranquillity—because a bedroom should be a retreat, not just a place to sleep.

A Bathroom That Marries Form and Function

A bathroom should feel like a retreat, not an afterthought. We designed this space with a matte black basin atop a light wood vanity, creating a striking yet balanced contrast. Large-format grey tiles were used to enhance the feeling of spaciousness, ensuring the room felt open and inviting.

For storage, we incorporated built-in mirror shelving, providing easy access to essentials without visual clutter. Every detail, from the black towel bar to the sleek fixtures, was carefully selected to tie the space together in a seamless, modern design.
